VI Rings in 2026 with Spectacular Celebrations
Communities across the Virgin Islands welcomed 2026 with live music, fireworks and packed parties at popular spots including Foxy’s Tamarind Bar, Trellis Bay Market and the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park. The island-wide celebrations featured local and regional artists, fire shows and midnight fireworks that lit up the skies from Tortola to Jost van Dyke and Virgin Gorda.
Residents and visitors across the Virgin Islands ushered in 2026 with a string of lively celebrations, live performances and fireworks displays that lit up beaches and town squares from Jost van Dyke to Tortola and Virgin Gorda. One of the most storied New Year’s Eve destinations, Foxy’s Tamarind Bar on Jost van Dyke, drew hundreds to its beach party.
The bar presented an international line-up that included Pumpa — widely regarded in the region as the King of Soca — as well as Bermudian singer-songwriter Mishka, keyboard virtuoso Jazzique Chiverton (aka Golden Fingers) with his Greenhouse Band, the all-female DJ collective LIPS International, and The Housewives of St John.
Attendees danced on the sand into the early hours, continuing Jost van Dyke’s tradition as a premier spot for ringing in the new year. Trellis Bay Market, Bar & Grill on Beef Island staged its own beachside festivities and a midnight fireworks display that drew a sizable crowd. Local selectors kept the party going with Selector Taz, VG Tyga, Boss and Mac Milli, while a fire show and moko jumbies added cultural flair to the celebrations.
Romney Tortola Pier Park — operating this year under the theme “All That Glitters” — continued to grow as a New Year’s Eve staple. Activities on The Lawn featured DJ Carly, Ova Drive, Signal Band and VIBE, while the ‘Grown & Lit’ Luxury Deck showcased DJ Dre, Razor Blades, Klimaxx Band and Extreme Band.
The park capped the night with a fireworks display enjoyed by many in and around Road Town. As midnight struck, fireworks illuminated the Virgin Islands sky at multiple locations, including Paradise Club in Cane Garden Bay, Peter Island and several spots on Virgin Gorda, offering residents island-wide scenes of celebration.
The events highlighted the important role of entertainment venues and performers in the Territory’s social and tourism life, drawing both locals and visitors to enjoy music, food and community spirit. Organisers and patrons alike were reminded that such gatherings also carry responsibilities for safety, noise management and post-event clean-up to preserve the islands’ environment and quality of life.
