Virgin Islander Among Caribbean Posh Honourees
The 2026 Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Awards will recognise six regional leaders as the organisation marks its 10th anniversary. Lynette L. Harrigan, MBE, a longtime tourism professional with the BVI Tourist Board, is among the honourees as events take place in the Virgin Islands June 25–30, 2026.
Caribbean POSH has named its 2026 ICON Woman Awards honourees as it celebrates 10 Years of Purpose and POSH, and a Virgin Islands leader is among those recognised. Harrigan, MBE, Niche Marketing/Tourism Liaison Manager at the BVI Tourist Board, is one of six women honoured for leadership across government, tourism, sustainability, entrepreneurship, media and community development.
The full list of 2026 honourees includes Honourable Cora Richardson-Hodge, Premier of Anguilla (who will also deliver the event keynote); Dr Legena Henry, Founder & CEO of Rum & Sargassum; Dona Regis-Prosper, Secretary-General & CEO of the Caribbean Tourism Organization; Jennifer Matarangas-King, Commissioner of the U.S.
Virgin Islands Department of Tourism; and Hilma Roebuck, owner/operating manager of 101.3 ROEFM WEVI. Brin said the awards celebrate women “helping shape the future of the Caribbean,” highlighting leadership, resilience and innovation at a time when the region is focused on economic growth, sustainability and tourism.
Premier Richardson-Hodge — the first woman to serve as Anguilla’s premier — will address those themes, emphasising people-centred governance and regional collaboration. For BVI residents, Harrigan’s recognition underscores the territory’s role in regional tourism leadership. Awarded an MBE for services to tourism and community service, Harrigan has long worked to strengthen the Virgin Islands product, promote hospitality standards, and support marketing initiatives that attract visitors and investment.
Local industry members say such regional visibility can open doors for partnerships, training, and promotional opportunities that benefit hotels, tour operators and small businesses across the BVI. Caribbean POSH Weekend 2026 runs June 25–30 in the Virgin Islands under the theme “The Future of the Caribbean: Connection, Collaboration & Growth.” The multi-day programme includes the Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Awards, the POSHgirl POWER Brunch, a PINK Sunday Sunset Sail, curated cultural experiences, and networking events designed to foster regional conversations on leadership, innovation, tourism and entrepreneurship.
