Virgin Islands Expects Brief Scattered Showers
Residents across the Virgin Islands can expect partly cloudy skies with a moderate chance of showers today and tonight. Light winds and daytime heating are combining with low-level moisture to produce localized cloudiness across the territory, while marine conditions remain relatively calm.
Residents and visitors across the British Virgin Islands can anticipate periodic cloud cover and passing showers throughout the day and into the evening, according to the latest regional weather forecast. The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services, in an update shared through the Department of Disaster Management (DDM), reported that a combination of light winds, daytime heating, and available low-level atmospheric moisture may generate brief periods of cloudiness and localized showers across the territory.
Sky conditions are forecast to remain partly cloudy both today and tonight, with a 60 percent, or moderate, chance of scattered rainfall. While heavy downpours are not broadly anticipated, localized showers could bring intermittent wet weather to various communities across the islands.
Winds are projected to blow gently from the east-southeast at speeds between 6 and 12 miles per hour (9 to 19 kilometers per hour). These light breezes are contributing to the daytime buildup of warmth and convective cloud cover over the islands. For mariners, fishermen, and watersports enthusiasts, marine conditions remain favourable.
Seas are expected to reach heights of up to 3 feet (0.9 meters), offering relatively tranquil conditions across local coastal and offshore waters. Despite the calm seas, boaters are always encouraged to stay alert for sudden changes in visibility or brief wind gusts during passing showers.
According to forecaster Trecy Spencer-Lake, sunset today is scheduled for 6:15 p.m., while sunrise tomorrow will occur at 6:07 a.m. The Department of Disaster Management reminds the public that it distributes weather updates collected from certified regional meteorological sources to help residents plan daily routines, outdoor activities, and marine travel safely.
