Xmas in July 2026 Draws 400 Boats
Xmas in July 2026, organised by the BVI Tourist Board Foundation Committee (BVITBFC) with Wally Castro Marine, will be held Saturday, July 25 at Pond Bay Beach, Virgin Gorda. The event is expected to draw 400 boats and more than 4,000 attendees and will feature live performances, food, and community-focused fundraising for marine conservation.
Xmas in July 2026 returns to Pond Bay Beach on Virgin Gorda on Saturday, July 25, in a collaboration between the BVI Tourist Board Foundation Committee (BVITBFC) and Wally Castro Marine. The BVITBFC announced on its Facebook page on July 23, 2026, that organisers expect about 400 boats and more than 4,000 attendees.
Festivities will run from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM and include food, entertainment and live music. Headline performers include Puerto Rican singer Pedro Capó, the bands La Vecina and Maeso y su Orquesta, and Final Faze from Tortola. The event builds on a tradition that began in 2007 and has steadily grown, underscoring longstanding cultural and tourism ties between Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Beyond entertainment, organisers are emphasising the event’s community and environmental impact. Xmas in July will donate 15% of proceeds from tumbler sales to Beyond the Reef, a Virgin Islands nonprofit focused on marine environmental education and preservation. Representatives from Beyond the Reef will be on site to assist with merchandise sales and to raise awareness about marine conservation among attendees.
For BVI residents the event will bring both opportunities and operational impacts. The influx of boaters and visitors typically boosts local vendors, food and transport services, and provides seasonal income for hospitality operators across Virgin Gorda and neighbouring islands. Businesses and residents should prepare for increased demand on transport, mooring and shore-side services, while operators in marine tourism may see higher bookings.
At the same time, residents should expect heavier marine and shore traffic in and around Pond Bay on the day. Boat operators and visitors are urged to follow established anchoring and no-wake rules, respect protected areas and local guidelines, and take care with waste disposal to limit environmental impact.
